How Often Should You Apply A Wood Stain or Sealer to Your Log Home?

This is a very common question, but not easy to give a straight forward answer!

As with everything, let's dig a little deeper to get the real answers.  Well, it depends on location, elevation, exposure, rain fall, and even wind as to how your stain or finish will hold up over the months and changes of seasons.  A shaded south wall or a covered deck with no sun will obviously last a lot longer than a completely exposed souther or western exposure, or a deck that gets the full brunt of mother nature every day, for 365 days a year.

What can I do?

Well, the best answer is to stay vigilant on protecting your wood from these events by applying and maintaining a quality wood stain.  You can't stop the onslaught of weather but you can laugh in the face of mother nature if you are prepared and have a realistic expectation of how long wood stains last on log homes.

So be ready with your power washer, your pump jug, and your sprayer to get the job done when it is time.  To make it go a lot smoother and get the professional results all homeowners are looking to achieve, use the right products to get the job done easily and efficiently and leave a long lasting finish so you won't have to do this again for at least a few more years.
